Warrant sweep nets $40,000 in city
216 cases cleared; fee waiver offer continues through March 31
Rockdale’s “warrant roundup” of outstanding municipal court cases this spring, turned out to be more a stampede than a roundup.
Through Saturday, the official state “roundup day” in Texas, Rockdale Municipal Court had collected over $40,000 and cleaned 216 cases from the city books, according to Municipal Court Judge Jerry Waggoner. Full Story

A 23-year-old Bryan man who pleaded guilty to the Nov. 3, 2006, aggravated robbery of Gill’s Stop- N-Go is apparently headed to jail for the first time in connection with that offense.
District Judge Ed Magre revoked the probation of Justin Tiger Thomas Monday morning in 20th District Court. Full Story

Filing deadline Monday
Monday is the filing deadline for the May 14 city and school elect ions and at presst ime Wednesday there were still no contested races in Rockdale.
City offices will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for filing.
School candidates may file at the Central Administration Building from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. only on Monday, the first day of spring break. Full Story

Spring Break is March 14-18 in the Rockdale, Milano, Thorndale and Gause ISDs.
