Filing deadline Monday

Monday is the filing deadline for the May 14 city and school elect ions and at presst ime Wednesday there were still no contested races in Rockdale.

City offices will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for filing.

School candidates may file at the Central Administration Building from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. only on Monday, the first day of spring break.

ROCK DA LE—Newcomer Melody Dawson (east ward) and incumbent Doug Calame (west ward) are unopposed to date on the city ballot.

Newcomers Lin Perry (Place 6) and Kent Bowermon (Place 7) are seeking Rockdale ISD board positions

MILANO—The Milano ISD has a contested race with Lynette Taylor, incumbent John Paniagua and newcomer Gary Steinbecker seeking two at-large terms.

Kevin Love and Terry Malovets have filed for the unexpired portions of two-year and one-year terms, respectively, to which they were appointed last May.

Incumbents Carol Newman, David Gunnels Jr., and Henry Dykes signed up for new terms.

THORNDALE—Incumbents Larr y Joe Fisher and Dean Betak have filed for new terms on the Thorndale ISD board of trustees.

Theirs are the only terms expiring in 2011.

Still no filings for the City of Thorndale election where terms of Mayor Billy Simank and councilmen Mike Davenport and Doug Oslick are expiring.
