Graveside services for Lucy Wallace, 89, of Houston were held Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in Miner va Cemetery in Minerva.

Mrs. Wallace died Thursday, March 3.

She was born Nov. 5, 1921, in Cameron to Louie and Christine Turner.

She married to Eugene Trevor “Jack” Wallace and they celebrated their 70th anniversary just a few weeks ago.

Mrs. Wallace was proud of her career and retirement from the University of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Louie Turner.

Survivors are her husband, Eugene Wallace; two daughters, Ellen Wallace, Martha Ready and husband Ray; a son, Jack Wallace and wife Anne; eight grandchildren, Laura Ready, Elaine Wallace, Leslie Houston, Michael Wallace, Mark Hacker, Becky Flint, Craig Flint and Drew Wallace; and a sister-in-law, Bebe Turner; also, many great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the University of Houston College of Engineering or a charity of one’s choice.
