Deadlines for multi-event weekend nearing

By DARLEEN TUCKER
TACC Secretary

Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is gearing up for its 2nd Annual Car/Quilt/Arts & Crafts Shows set for Saturday, March 26, in downtown Thorndale.

The Quilt Committee has finished their Boot Scootin’ Raffle Quilt which will be on display in the Downtown Cafe this week. The quilt will raise money for the TACC scholarship and help with expenses for the Airing of the Quilts Show which will be held in downtown Thorndale in the TACC Building on March 26. See any Chamber director or downtown merchant for raffle tickets.

Show rules and entry forms for the Quilt Show are available by email or telephone from Darleen Tucker at dar_ tucker@yahoo.com or 512-898-2727. Ladies check your closets and beds and enter those one of a kind quilts made by you or someone dear to you! Several categories are available and your quilt is sure to fit in one of them. Don’t let your hard work or the work of someone you love go unappreciated.

The Airing of the Quilts was created to showcase the handiwork of crafts both past and present and to show the public in general what creative women can do. Come join this event designed to keeping the quilting experience alive and appreciated.

Appreciation of classic cars is also on the agenda for the day. If you have a classic car that you are proud of, then join our Classic Car Show in downtown Thorndale. For entry information contact Trey Felton at 512-898-2514 or Brian Morton at 512-658-5378. These two will be able to help you with registration information on the Classic Car Show and will also be able to help you with entry information on the Louis Run Motorcycle Event to be held the same day. Rev up those motors and shine up your classic cars for this fun and exciting event on March 26.

If quilts and c ars are not enough for your entertainment, try out the vendors at our Arts and Crafts Show set for the same day also in downtown Thorndale. Booths are filling up fast. To reserve a spot for your club or just for yourself, contact Lily Dennis at 512-898-2121 or Susan Drabek at 512-269-8796 for more information. These ladies will be able to help you find just the right spot to showcase your wares to the public during the day. Have a mini-garage sale, craft sale, jewelry sale, or bake sale. Whatever you have in mind, the TACC will find a spot for you.

Whether you want to enter one of our events or are just looking for a way to enjoy the spring weather in Texas, we want to see you on March 26 in Thorndale.
