Rising Star Baptist Men and Women’s Day

Rising Star Baptist Church will hold its annual Men and Women’s Day at 11 a .m. Sunday, March 20 at the church, 1022 Texas Street, according to Jo Ann Bradford, spokesperson.

Guest pastor and congregation will be Bishop Randy Williams of Greater Faith House of Prayer in Panama City, Florida.

Music will be by the Rising Star Music Ministry, Greater Faith Choir, and the Deloach family.

“Everyone is invited to attend and share in this program,” Bradford said.

Rising Star golf event to aid building fund

Rising Star Baptist Church’s second annual Rising Star Golf Classic will be held at 1 p.m. (shotgun start) Saturday, March 26 at Blackhawk Golf Club, 2714 Kelly Lane, Pflugerville.

Registration will start at 11 a.m., according to Joann Bradford, publicist. Cost is $65 per player with a maximum of 72 golfers, 18 teams. Registration will provide tourney data and goodie bags.

Tournament and other prizes will be awarded at 5:30 p.m. Trophies will also be awarded for a putting challenge, longest drive and closest to-pin.

Thrift store volunteers named through March

Rockdale Christian Services member churches are responsible for volunteers at the Heavenly Treasures Thrift Shop on the following dates:

March 16-17, St. Joseph’s Catholic; March 18, Mt. Zion Baptist; March 22, Tuesday Volunteers; March 23-24, Full Gospel Chapel; March 25, Guadalupanas; March 29, Tuesday Volunteers; March 30-31, First Baptist.—Judy Brown, volunteer chair

Women’s Bible study series continues here

The ladies ministry of Rising Star Baptist Church invites all women to attend Bible Study each Sunday.

Men’s breakfast set April 12, Presbyterian

Next monthly second-Tuesday ecumenical community men’s fellowship breakfast will be 7 to 8 a.m. April 12 at First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall.

Purpose is Christian fellowship. These breakfasts rotate between several local churches and all men of the Rockdale area are invited.

Morning Star trail ride to benefit ranch facility

MILANO–Morning Star Ranch, located off CR 328 southwest of Milano, will host an American Competitive Trail Horse Association trail competition, owners Andy and Rita Kay Isaacs have announced.

The two-day event will run April 30 and May 1 and funds raised will be used to help finish the Hospitality House at the ranch.

Stephen Chapel sets celebration

GAUSE–Stephen Chapel A.M.E. Church, located at 422 E. US 79 in Gause, invites everyone to attend their 37th annual Family and Friends Day and the 122nd Church Celebration on Sunday, March 20, church clerk Delores Fisher announced.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. and feature guest speaker Rev. Bryan Carter, pastor of Concord Baptist Church in Dallas.
