Winners advance to district contests

Nine 4-Hers competed at the County 4-H Contest Night on March 8. In the Fashion Show, the following entries were judged:

Beginners–Katelyn Trowbridge, buying dressy; Sydney Vaculin, construction casual.

Junior–Calla Vinton, buying dressy, speciality, casual.

Intermediate–Kendall Lee, buying dressy.

All participants received a blue ribbon for their accomplishments.

Four 4-Hers completed educational presentations. All participants received blue ribbons:

Beginners– Colby Barton, Tornado Safety; Connor Barton, Mexico Safety.

Juniors–Kassidy Hundle, Kitchen Safety; Chandler Barton, Bicycle Safety.

Charity Capps entered the Share-the-Fun Intermediate Vocal contest. She received a blue ribbon.

The junior and intermediate participants will advance to the District 8 contests in April:

Fashion show– Calla Vinton and Kendall Lee; Roundup contests–Kassidy Hundle and Chandler Barton; Share the Fun– Charity Capps.

Congratulations to all the 4- Hers and leaders who assisted with the contest. A special thanks to Ben Milam Elementary for providing the facilities, Janet Hundle for coordinating the event and LaVerne Soefje and Wanda Lee for judging the presentations.

HOUSTON HORSE JUDGING– The junior horse judging team placed 33 out of 57 teams at the Houston Livestock Show on March 7. Team members were Gracen Dach, Darci Denio, Emily Graham and Jale Walzel.

Dach placed 30 out of 176 individualsin the junio division. Congratulations to the team and there coach Monica Barton.

STATE FAIR LAMB, GOAT TAGS–Any youth interested in showing lambs or goats at the State Fair of Texas in September must order validation tags by April 7. Please visit the Milam County Extension Office to order tags.

The lambs and goats will be validated in late June. The cost of State Fair of Texas validation tags is $10 per tag, and must be paid for at the time of order.
