Fund-raiser planned Sunday for cancer patient Worrell

People of the community will sponsor a fund-raiser for Gerald Worrell, who is battling cancer. It will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 20 in the Gause Baptist Church Family Life Center. The meal will consist of ham, beans, potato salad, drink and dessert for $7. Make plans to support this activity for Gerald.

Mildred Simmons was taken to the hospital in Br yan on Friday after a fall at her home. She will be in the hospital for a few days. Maxine McBee and I visited with her Sunday afternoon and she is in good spirits. She suffered a should injury and some bruises.

Phillip Rasco is a member of the Milam County 4-H Nutrition Food Challenge team which recently won second place at the District 8 competition. They will be going to the State 4-H Roundup in June.

Connelly Cooper, Cameron Cooper, Jaxon Hayles and Kendall Lee participated in the state indoor 4-H archery meet in Bay City on Friday. Also attending to cheer them on were Kelly and Chris Cooper, Kristi Lee, Kim Lee, Kathy and David Hayles, Bryan Hayles and Wanda and Wayne Lee.

Jaxon returned home with his dad and grandparent to League City for spring break. The rest of the group were up early Saturday morning to get to Bryan for soccer games the other three youth were participating in.

Gause 4-H Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21 in the Gause school cafeteria.
