Senior Megan Hearn, who was Big Blue’s leading hitter last year, and was off to a hot start in 2011, has torn her ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and faces an extended period of recovery. Full Story

Tigers face top teams at Brownwood
Will play four games in five days during spring break
In District 23-3A, the Rockdale baseball team will face some stiff competition and the Tigers certainly got a preview of things to come with a bracket loaded with quality opponents this past weekend at the Brownwood Tournament.

Milano High School sophomore Jamie Czajkowski competed at the Region II Division III Powerlifting Championships in Riesel on Saturday, placing first in the 181-pound class, and has now qualified for Full Story
Thorndale giving foes fighting fits
THORNDALE–The Lady Dogs (8-9, 3-2) haven’t let their district opening loss to Lexington on March 1 get them down. They have won three of their last four games and are in the mix among the top spots in the 27-2A standings.
On Tuesday afternoon, Thorndale suffered a 4-1 road loss at Academy. Senior Kim Leschber (8-6) took the loss for the Lady Dogs, fanning nine batters. Full Story

Milano baseball falls in title game of Burton tourney
Team returns six starters off 2010 squad
After just a week of practice, the Milano Eagles (3-2) baseball team made it all the way to the championship game of the Burton tournament over the weekend.
Although they fell to Fayetteville in the title game, the Eagles are coming along under second year head coach Jayce Rasberry. Full Story

Milano softball earned just its second win of the season on Friday, ending their pre-district schedule on a high note with a no hitter from senior pitcher Masey Turnage.
