Substance charges, shooting accident probed by deputies


SHERIFF’S REPORT SHERIFF’S REPORT The Milam County Sheriff’s Department reported two arrests on illegal substance abuse charges and were called to one shooting accident during the past week.

CHARGES— Misty Dawn Amalbert, 32, of Cameron was charged March 16 with possession of a prohibited substance in correctional facility and two misdemeanor theft charges.

She remains in the county jail in lieu of $11,000 bond.

Darnell Benson Jr., 18, of Rockdale, was arrested March 15 and charged with possession of a controlled substance (3 to 28 grams) and possession of a dangerous drug.

He was released after posting $6,000 bond.

SHOOTING—Deputies were called to a County Road 358 location near Gause March 15 in connection with a hunting accident in which a Milano man sustained a hand wound.

ARRESTS—Juan Carlos Saucedo Jr., 18, of Cameron, was arrested March 15 and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

He is also being held on an immigration detainer.

Trooper David Yarbrough made an arrest Friday of a 37-year-old Rockdale man on an out- ofcounty indictment.

Clifford Nelson Locklin Jr., was indicted for engaging in organized criminal activity.

He was also charged on an outof county warrant for failure to appear on the same offense and another out-of-county warrant for failure to appear on a burglary of a building charge.
