PRE-DISTRICT—Big Blue spent the final weekend of spring break on the road, losing to Class 5A San Marcos 10-0 on Thursday and dropping an exciting 9-8 decision to Llano, the state’s 10th-ranked Class 3A team, on Friday.

“Our team has been pretty inconsistent,” coach Jarad Richards said. “We’ve shown we can hit well at times but we have to be more consistent there.”

“Pitching has also been inconsistent,” he said. “At times it has been great and kept us in ball games. At other times we struggle to find the strike zone.”

Richards said defense is turning into a bright spot for the Tigers.

“We made a lot of errors early but defense seems to be improving as guys get more practices and games under their belts.”

“We played a very tough predistrict schedule and I think it will pay off for us in district play,” Richards said.
