Milano ISD students get early release this Friday

Thank s to ever yone that came out and showed their support for the Milano Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary clothing sale on Saturday at the community center.

Students at Milano ISD will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 8.

Milano High School’s One-Act Play will perform in area competetion on Saturday at Hempstead High School. The first play starts at 10 a.m. and Milano is the third play to go on, so get there by 11 a.m. “Break a leg.”

From all reports, the alumni softball tournament was a success and plans are already in the works for one next year. Winners were “Team Bradshaw”, second was “ Team Lagrone” and third place was “Team Love”. Thanks to everyone that worked to get things organized and the wheels turning. It’s great to see former students, teachers and faculty come back and visit and see our changes at Milano ISD.

There will be a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 in the theater room of Milano High School. To sign up, contact the MHS office at 512-455-9333 to get an appointment time. Don’t forget that April 16 is the 11th annual Milano Lodge #605 AF& AM golf tournament to benefit the group’s scholarship fund. The event will be held at the Cameron Country Club. Members of the “Team Tammy” Relay For Life team said the “Walker wraps” fund-raiser held Saturday went better than expected. Thanks to all who bought the breakfast wrap and to Steve Walker for making his famous trademark.

The team is planning its next fund-raiser on Saturday, April 30 with a garage sale in front of Smokin’ Oak BBQ on US 79. Donations are now being taken. For more information, contact Jennifer Mueck, 254-482-0778, or Marie Bakken, 254-718-0133.

Buck, Marie, Bradley and Hannah Bakken were in Thorndale on Saturday evening to attend the second birthday party for cousin Lilly Reese.
