Brooks wins 4 events for RHS at Caldwell

Reporter/Marie Bakken Daniel Brooks captured 110-high hurdles, one of four events he won at Hornet Relays Thursday. Reporter/Marie Bakken CALDWELL—Daniel Brooks won four events, and was second in another, as the Rockdale Tigers finished second in the Hornet Relays Thursday.

The Lady Tigers were third as Emily Brinkley won two events.

QUAD WINNER—Brooks won the long jump (21- 4), 110-high hurdles (14.17), 100 meters (10.66) and 300-hurdles (39.19).

He was second in the triple jump (43-5).

Jacob Gerren won the 1,600 meters (4:46.93) and was second in the 800 (2:06.64).

Juan Rubio won the 3,200 (10:26.97) and was second in the 1,600 (4:48.97).

LeRaven Clark was second in the shot put ( 51- 7) with Sal Bishop third (43-10) and Anthony Montoya (42-0-1/2) fifth.

Clark was second (159 -10) and Montoya fifth (131-4) in the discus.

Michael Tindle was third (41.3) in the 300-hurdles.

Big Blue’s 1,600 relay foursome was third (3:33.2).

Tom Voyles (5-10) was fifth in the high jump.

Brandon Wright took sixth (54.64) in the 400 meters.

Rockdale ended with 123 points, 10 behind the host Hornets.

L A DY TIGER S—Brinkley won the shot put with a 38-1 effort and also captured the discus with a 111-1 throw.

Victoria Drake was second in the 300-hurdles (50.06) with Ashton Simank taking fourth (52.62).

Deja Gibbons, Haley Wright, Kelsey Ford and Edricka Burns were third in the 800-meter relay (1:51.9).

Drake was fourth in the 100- hurdles (16.64) with Simank fifth (17.18).

Chelsea Rober ts, Gibbons, Burns and Ford were fourth in the 400-relay (51.88).

Sarah Snelson finished fourth in the high jump (4-10).

Burns took sixth (27.47) in the 200 meters.

Rockdale scored 63 points to take fourth.

JV WINS—The JV Tigers won their division of the meet with 181 points while the JV Lady Tigers were third with 109.
