Tiger golfers take District 23AAA win

Rockdale’s Tiger golfers are the champions of District 23AAA.

Rockdale fired a two-day total of 333-319-652 at Navasota Monday and Tuesday to win the loop title by 41 strokes over Caldwell, which shot 366-327-693.

The Lady Tigers were fourth behind Caldwell, La Grange and Smithville.

“We competed in winds that topped out at 40 miles per hour,” coach Dusty Loewe said.

TIGERS—Kirk Williams led the Tigers with a 79-77-156, tying Caldwell’s Carson Scitern for first place medalist.

Scitern won a three-hole playoff against Williams for medalist honors.

Rockdale’s Patrick David was third with a 78-89-158.

Garrett Korenek (86-83-169) was seventh.

The Tigers advance to the regional tourney April 20-21 in Conroe.

LADY TIGERS—Jacey Jerman led the Lady Tigers with a 103-102-205 two-day score.

She finished fourth in individual competition and advances to regional play April 18-19 at Conroe.
