City raises alarm over revenues
Cutback in services possible this year
City Manager Kelvin Knauf had an ominous prediction for the near future at Monday’s city council meeting.
Knauf told council members if sales tax revenues continue to drop significantly, some city services could have to be curtailed, that a budget amendment for this fiscal year is likely, and that next year’s budget “will be brutal.” Full Story
Dewberry Run ahead Saturday at Vets’ Park
The 12th Annual Rockdale Dewberry Jam—which includes both 5K and 10K distances for the first time—will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park, corner of Brazos and Murray Streets.

Bevo spring jam Saturday at Apache Pass
The Silver Spurs, alumni association at The University of Texas at Austin, will host an all-day Spring Jam Saturday at Apache Pass.
Activities get under way at 11 a.m. and include a barbecue cookoff and a music festival headlined by the legendary Jerry Jeff Walker.
