County opens bids on security, depository
CAMERON—Milam County commissioners, meeting Monday in regular session in the county courthouse, opened bids on courthouse security and for Milam’s bank depository.
Only one bid was received on courthouse security. It was referred to a commissionersappointed committee, which will study the bid and make a recommendation at the next commissioners court session. Full Story

DPS probes 3 wrecks
No injuries were reported in a trio of motor vehicle accidents in the Rockdale area investigated during the past week by state troopers.
Trooper Ernest DelBosque was called to a 4:15 p. m. crash April 5 on FM 487.
He listed the driver as Olivia Leyendecker, 62, of Thorndale.

Fragmented Rockdale may get relief
The once-every- 10- years sideshow that is redistricting is looming for Milam County commissioners and a fragmented Rockdale in on the minds of the commissioners court.
Commissioners met in a workshop session Thursday and County Judge Dave Barkemeyer, after studying the current map (above) noted that precinct lines in Rockdale are “confusing.” Full Story
