RJH 6th grade band

Rockdale Junior High band will be placing incoming sixth graders on instruments for the 2011-12 school year in the coming weeks, assistant director of bands Lance Walker said.

Tryouts will be held at the RJH band hall from 4- 7 p.m. May 2-5.

May 5-last name S-Z.

Lexington round-up

Lexington Elementary School will hold its annual Pre-K and kindergarten registration April 18-21, principal Lynette Brown has announed.

“ This is a great opportunity for parents to come register their children, as well as, visit the campus. This year we will also have a drawing for a boy’s and a girl’s backpack filled with school supplies for the children who are registered during this week,” Brown said.

“ We also want to remind everyone that we are accepting applications for transfer students for the 2011-12 school year.”

Applications can be found on line at www.lexingtonisd.net or can be picked up at the LISD Central Office. The deadline for those applications is May 20, 2011. from home, work or school,” Geletka said. “Items may be dropped off for recycling at the junior high office.”

Other items being collected include digital cameras, DVDs, video games/consoles.
