Pre K, Kindergarten round up set at RISD
Pre-K and Kindergarten registration and round up at Rockdale Elementary School will be from 4- 6 p.m. Monday, April 25 in the school cafeteria, principal Robin Faulkner announced. RES will be expanding the Pre-K program for the 2011-12 school year. Students will go from half a day to a full day schedule.
Pre-K classes will begin and dismiss with all grade levels on the campus. At this time applications will only be taken from students meeting the federal enrollment guidelines.
Take your child who will start school in the fall to meet the teachers, visit the classrooms and fill out registration forms.
PRE K—To be eligible to register your child for pre-kindergarten, he or she must be four on or before Sept. 1, 2011, Faulkner said.
Required documents are: official birth certificate, social security card, complete immunization record, verification of household income, proof of residence, parent/ guardian ID (if you are not the parent, bring guardianship papers).
RES will also conduct surveys to determine community interest in an open enrollment Pre-K program. Open enrollment programs are tuition-based to provide Pre-K services to students who do not meet federal enrollment guidelines. Surveys will be available during the Round-Up event as well as all RISD campus offices.
Interested community members may also complete the survey online by going to the Rockdale ISD website, www.rockdaleisd.net.
