Easter Sunrise service Sunday at St. John’s

St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale, will host a community-wide Easter Sunrise ser vice at 7 a. m. on the east lawn of the church. Following the service, the Methodist Men and Women will serve a breakfast, according to Rev. John Warren, pastor. The public is invited.

Forest Grove Church lists Easter events

Forest Grove Christian Church Minister Brandon Navarre has announced the church will host the following:

• Saturday, April 23, children’s Easter egg Hunt starting at 10 a.m. Area children welcome.

• Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m. worship, FGCC Easter Cantata. “This will be an amazing performance,” Navarre said, “and the public is invited.”

FGCC will not hold an evening service on Easter Sunday, he said.

Jazz Worship Service May 1 at Veterans Park

First Presby terian Church in Rockdale, Rev. Rebecca Fox Nuelle, pastor, will host a Jazz Worship Service in the Park with trumpeter Lee “Sparky” Thomason and other musicians at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 1 at Veteran’s Park on Mistletoe Lane The public is invited, Rev. Nuelle said.

Peace Lutheran Church plans Easter services

Peace Lutheran Church Pastor Jan Campbell has announced the following services for Easter week:

• Maundy Thursday service, 7 p.m. April 21, ends with traditional stripping of the altar.

• Liturgy of Good Friday, 7 p.m. April 22, celebrates the Lord’s sacrifice on the cross.

• Easter Sunday, April 24, celebration begins with potluck breakfast at 9:15 a.m., Easter egg hunt at 9: 45, worship at 10:30 a.m.

Sunrise at Liberty

MILANO–Liberty Community Church will hold sunrise services, Easter morning at 7 a.m. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish breakfast and lawn chairs. The church is located on FM 3242, four miles north of Milano.

Thrift store volunteers

Rockdale Christian Services member churches are responsible for volunteers at the Heavenly Treasures Thrift Shop on the following dates:

April 21-22, closed Good Friday; April 26, Tuesday Volunteers; April 27-28, Meadowbrook Baptist; April 29, Peace Lutheran.—Judy Brown, volunteer chair

Men’s breakfast

Next monthly second-Tuesday ecumenical community men’s fellowship breakfast will be 7 to 8 a.m. May 10 at St. John’s United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Purpose is Christian fellowship. Breakfasts rotate between several local churches and all men are invited.

End of life training

CALDWELL—Hospice Brazos Valley is holding a Spiritual End of Life Training on Saturday, April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 306 W. Fox Street, Caldwell.

This seminar is offered at no cost to all who minister to the chronic or terminally ill. A free training manual, which includes Texas legal forms, is provided. Call 979-821-2266 for details.

Morning Star trail ride

MILANO–Morning Star Ranch, CR 328 southwest of Milano, will host an American Competitive Trail Horse Association trail competition, said owners Andy and Rita Kay Isaacs. The two-day event will run April 30 and May 1 and funds raised will be used to help finish the Hospitality House at the ranch.
