Dewees

Services for Bill Dewees, 60, were held Monday, April 18, 2011, at Phillips & Luckey Chapel in Rockdale with Revs. Doug Springer and Calvin Springer officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery near Hempstead.

Mr. Dewees died Friday, April 15, in a Hope, Arkansas, hospital.

He was born Feb. 27, 1951, in Navasota to William Claude and Betty Jo (Youngblood) Dewees.

He lived in Rockdale for 51 years and the past nine months in Hope, Arkansas.

Mr. Dewees worked for Windom Door Factory in Hearne.

He attended school in Rockdale and a short time in Milano.

Mr. Dewees enjoyed going to the cafe with his father and visiting with friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Dewees, on Nov. 23, 1997.

Survivors are his father, Claude Dewees of Rockdale; three aunts, Mary Elkins of Katy, Elva Mathis of Hempstead, Wanda Ward of Hope, Arkansas; and two uncles, James Dewees of Alexandria, Louisiana, John Dewees of Joplin, Missouri; also, many cousins and other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to a charity of giver’s choice.
