Teens caught in Rockdale after shotgun slaying of woman
A 50-year-old San Gabriel area woman was killed by two shotgun blasts at her home Monday afternoon and two Rockdale-area teens have been charged with capital murder.
Sheriff David Greene said Sandra “Sandy” Phillips died during a home invasion in the 7300 block of FM 486 when she was hit twice in the chest with blasts from a .12-gauge shotgun. Full Story

Rockdale City Council members discussed an all-encompassing nuisance ordinance Monday in a workshop session that included an earful of input from a council visitor.
“It’s going to be a nuisance to live in Rockdale,” realtor Judith Matula told the council. “We have enough laws. You can’t write an ordinance to cover every single situation.” Full Story
