‘Ecstatic’ weekend as police arrest 10 on drug charges

It was an ecstatic weekend for Rockdale police, but not in a good way.

Police made 10 drug arrests during the past week, most of them for the designer drug ecstasy.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said all but three of the persons arrested on felonies during the week were in town for the Nocturnal Fest music event at Apache Pass.

Newlin said those arrested ths year have become “more street savvy.”

“They are now refusing to allow us to search their vehicles,” he said. “We kept Constable Herbie Vaughan and his drug dog on the go during the weekend.”

Newlin said Ofc. Adam Assaker participated in a majority of the busts.

DRUGS—The following were arrested for possession of a controlled substance:

• Alison Lindsey Winkelmann, 24, Rockdale, also charged with evading arrest/detention after a brief foot chase, bond set at $6,000.

• Jeremy Wade Harrison, 22, Lufkin, $20,000 bond.

• Samuel Harold Wesson, 47, Rockdale, $20,000 bond.

• Dalton Allen Morgan, 30, Tyler, two counts, $12,000 bond.

• Lucas Ray Cross, 30, Tyler, also charged with tampering with physical evidence with intent to impair, $26,000 bond.

• John Light Denton, 26, Denver, Colorado, also charged with prohibited substance in a correctional facility, $8,000 bond.

• James Patrick Cerutti, 22, Carrollton, $6,000 bond.

• Darya Andreevena Litvishko, 22, Dallas, $6,000 bond.

• Susan Elizabeth Beresko, 19, Houghton, Louisiana, $ 6,000 bond.

• Nicholas Chase Gomez, 19, San Antonio, $20,000 bond.

Other felony arrests during the week were:

• Jarrod Langston Barrett, 34, Bullard, tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, $20,000 bond.

• Michael Savoy Lunsford, 23, Cedar Creek, unlawful possession of firearm by felon, $20,000 bond.

• Heather Regina Wells, 24, Navasota, forgery of a financial instrument/elderly, magistration pending at presstime.

ACCIDEN TS—No injuries were reported in accidents within the city limits as follows:

• 11:50 a.m. April 27, US 79 near USA Foods, drivers Andrew Evans of Milano and Sharon McGhehey of Rockdale.

• 8:34 a.m. Thursday, Charles at West Cameron, driver Juanita Beason of Rockdale; other driver left the scene.

• 2:11 p. m. Thursday, West Cameron near City Hall, drivers Sarah Williford of Deanville and Kelsey Lane of Rockdale.

• 9 p.m. Friday, East Cameron near Rockdale RV Park, drivers Christina Baker Hall of Overton and Edward Paul of Rockdale.

• 9: 06 p.m. Friday, Main at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, drivers, Adrian Castellanos of Elsa and Raveen McMeans of Rockdale.

• 9: 46 a.m. Sunday, Ackerman at Bell, drivers, Cole Dietz of Allen and Sammie Lee Ford of Rockdale.
