CITIZENSHIP DAY—On June 20, the second annual Citizenship Day will be conducted by the Milam County Farm Bureau. The day is open to 4-H and FFA members as well as other interested youth in the county.

This year the Citizenship Day will introduce you to elected county government and the in’s and out’s of a trial. The day will start with an introduction to the roles of county government officials. Find out what they do and how they can affect your life. Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to conduct a Mock Trial.

By end of the day, the 4-H and FFA members and other youth involved will have gained insight into how Milam County government works and will have met the actual people responsible for our government in Milam County. This will be a great way to learn about county government and then be a part of a trial situation. To sign-up for the Citizenship Day, contact the Milam County Extension Office.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

9 a.m.—Meet at the County Court Room in Cameron; Understand Roles in County Government.

Noon—Pizza Lunch provided by Milam County Farm Bureau.

1 p.m.—Understand Roles in the District Courtroom; Participate in a Mock Trial.

Following the Mock Trial Learn Outcome of Accrual Trial Verdict.
