Embrey Embrey Band banquet Thursday

Dates for the Rockdale ISD band banquet and spring concert have been set.

The banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12 at the Rockdale Junior High commons. Tickets are available from director Adrian Acevedo for $9 each.

The band program’s spring concert will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19 in the RHS auditorium.

Embrey graduating Cum Laude at UT-Arlington

ARLINGTON–Kandece Channell Embrey will earn a Bachelor’s degree in sociology this weekend from the University of Texas at Arlington and will graduate Cum Laude.

While at UTA, Embrey was a member of Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society. She will be pursuing a Master’s of Education in Teaching beginning fall 2011.

She is the daugther of Ronald and Hazel Embrey and granddaughter of Rufus Ned Richards, Tony and Barbara Walko, Thomas Gary, Francine Embrey and the late Lue Richards. She is also a 2006 Rockdale High School graduate.

Davidson earns degree

SAN MARCOS–Haley Wynn Davidson graduated on May 12 from Texas State University with a degree in accounting from the McCoy College of Business.

Davidson has been active with the Phi Beta Chi sorority. She is the daughter of Geri Alexander and Henry O. Davidson and the granddaughter of James and Gloria Ferguson and Faye Davidson, all of Rockdale.

Locals graduate from Mary Hardin-Baylor

BELTON–The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor held spring Commencement ceremonies on May 7 at the Bell County Expo Center. This was the university’s 155th graduating class and a record 346 students were awarded degrees.

Local residents earning bachelor degrees included:

Rockdale–Tiffany Ann Davis, nursing.

Cameron–Randy G. Rodriguez, Spanish, EC-12 certification; Melinda Vargas, Spanish, EC-12 Certification.

Bow gets PT associates from Blinn College

Kyle Bow of Rockdale will graduate from Blinn College on Friday, May 13 with an associates degree for physical therapy assistant.

The Glen Rose High School graduate is married to Meggie (Debault) Bow and father to Kallen Bow. The couple is expecting a second child in June.

Bow is the son of Kay Quinney Bow of Rockdale and Henry Bow of Glen Rose and the grandson of Skeet and LeJean Quinney of Rockdale.

Barnett earns two degrees from CTC

Tammy Jean Barnett of Rockdale received two degrees during commencement ceremonies for Cenral Texas College held May 6 at the Bell County Expo Center.

She earned associates degrees in nursing and applied sciences.
