Graduation, baccalaureate ceremonies set at MISD

Hope all you mothers had a great day on Sunday. We were in Gause for the annual Mother’s Day Homecoming. Enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

The tractor pull held Saturday downtown was a big success. It depends which direction the wind is from on how loud it gets. Young and old seem to have so much fun. Be sure to mark your calender for next year.

As the month of May starts, we think of the school year coming to an end. Many classes and groups are going on field trips. Hope you all have fun.

The Milano Eagles baseball team has made it to the second round of the playoffs. Their area round series against Fayetteville will be 7 p.m. Friday in Thorndale and 2:30 p.m. Saturday in LaGrange. If necessary, a third game will be played 30 minutes after the conclusion of the second game.

Baccalaureate ceremonies will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22 at the high school. High school graduation is set for 8 p.m. Friday, May 27 on the football field. Eighth grade graduation is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26 in the high school cafeteria.

Elementary school award ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 25.

Congratulations to Jane and Travis Yoakum on the birth of a granddaughter.

“Team Tammy” will participate in the Relay For Life of Milam County on Friday in Cameron. The team is still taking donations at Smokin’ Oak BBQ in Milano and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Live and silent auctions items are needed for the second annual Kristi’s Krusaders “Rally for the Walk...Walk MS 2011”. The fund-raiser is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at Nat’s in Milano.
