Men’s breakfast June 14 at Meadowbrook Baptist
Next monthly second-Tuesday ecumenical community men’s fellowship breakfast will be 7 to 8 a.m. June 14 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church fellowship hall. Purpose is Christian fellowship. Breakfasts rotate between several local churches and all men of the area are invited.
Thrift store volunteers announced for May
Rockdale Christian Services member churches are responsible for volunteers at the Heavenly Treasures Thrift Shop on the following dates:

Peace Lutheran to sell barbecue plates Sunday
The public is invited to Peace Lutheran Church’s take-out barbecue plate fund-raiser to be held Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. until “sold out.”
The church is located at 303 Meadow Drive.
Rev. Jan Campbell, pastor, said all orders will be take-out and will include “generous helpings of barbecue brisket, potato salad, beans, condiments, bread and cake.” Cost will be $8 per plate, she said.
“ Peace Lutheran’s morning worship service on May 15 will be held at 9 a.m., she said, noting that Kevin Eschberger is providing the beef and will prepare the barbecue.
“If successful, this may become an annual event at Peace Lutheran,” Rev. Campbell said.
Rising Star plans ‘Youth Explosion’
R ising Star Baptist Church will hold a “Youth Explosion” on Saturday, June 11 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Rockdale Junior-High Commons.
“Sponsored by the Rising Star youth department, all area youth are invited to come dance, sing and praise with us,” said Kenny Dennis, youth minister. “Everyone is invited,” he said, “we’re looking for singers, praise dancers, mimes and more.”

Aglow Lighthouse to meet on Thursday
Rockdale Aglow Community Lighthouse will meet Thursday, May 12 at Rockdale General Store. Refreshments and fellowship will start at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m.
Guest speakers will be Rev. Lois Baker and Kay Rindahl.
For the past 22 years Rev. Baker has been accompanied in ministry by her friend and co-worker Rindahl. Together they serve in a prophetic ministry. They have frequently been used to encourage pastors and churches and others in Christian leadership.
Lois is a licensed and ordained minister and she and Kay have been sent out as a prophetic team from their home church, Selma Worship Center, Selma Ohio. Both have been active for 30 years in Aglow International. They have spoken on radio and appeared on television.
The public is invited, said Sabrina Thompson, spokesperson.
‘Worship at the River’ ahead at Apache Pass
The public is invited to “Worship at the River” May 13-15 at Apache Pass, described as a weekend of “fun, games, free tent camping, food and family events.”
“This is a free Christian event with nightly concerts at 7 p.m. and a worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday with guest speaker Danny Cook, pastor of Legacy Church in Pflugerville,” said Mike Zapata, publicist.
Bands performing will be 7 Clinic, Soul Fruit, Whitley Casey, Fireproof and True Worship Ministries. Artists include Unity from Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and others.
