Gerren makes up for lack of size with heart and hard work
Standing 5-foot-4 and weighing 130 pounds, Jacob Gerren does not possess the physique of a long distance runner. Typically, they are usually long and lanky.
“He’s not your typical long distance runner,” says Rockdale track coach Jim Kerbow.
Where Gerren does gain in stature is a part of him no one can see: his heart. Full Story
Drake’s dash to the regional meet is one for the record books
Victoria Drake was sorely disappointed when she finished fourth in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles at the District 23-3A track meet, thus missing a second consecutive trip to the regional track meet.

WACO—Don’t ever tell the Milano baseball team when you are down a game in a best of three series and you are facing the opposing team’s ace pitcher you are supposed to lose.
The Eagles came back to take games two and three on Saturday against the Riesel Indians in a bi-district series to advance in the Class A state baseball playoffs. Full Story
Milano duo aiming for field event medals
Garza, Sanders first Eagles to make state since Evans in 2004
Milano will send two tracksters to the meet in Austin in junior Brandon Garza and senior Thomas Sanders.
Both will compete Friday at Mike Myers Stadium.
Garza will compete in the Class A boys pole vault at 9 a.m. Friday. He was the Region IV champion with a last chance vault of 13-feet, a career best height. Full Story

Milano’s Jac ob Wi l lingham was named to the Bryan-Col- lege Station Eagle All- Brazos Valley All-Academic team.
