Area nursing facility given 5-star rating

CAMERON—The Center for Medicaid & Medicare (CMS) has recently awarded the Cameron Nursing Center & Rehabilitation Facility a 5-star rating on their Five-Star Quality Rating System.

The Five-Star Quality Rating System was created by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and help identify areas about which you may want to ask questions.

There are seven 5- Star Rated facilities located in the 100 mile area surrounding Cameron. Cameron Nursing Center is the only 5-Star Rated Facility in Bell or Milam County.

Cameron Nursing Center is locally owned by Dr. S.H. Richardson and James D. Camp. Both Richardson and Camp have been in the nursing home business since 1968.

“Our staff deserves all the credit for this 5 Star Rating,” says administrator Jim Camp. “A nursing home is only as good as its staff, and I am extremely proud of the experience and dedication our staff brings to this facility every day.”

The Rating System is based on three critical areas of long term care facilities.

These areas include Staffing, Health Inspections and Quality Measures.

Nursing homes with 5 stars are considered to have much above average quality.
