Former principal signs on as PE instructor
Robin Faulkner, who submitted her resignation as principal of Rockdale Elementary School three weeks ago, was hired as an elementary physical education instructor Monday evening by the Rockdale ISD board of trustees.

Awards Night ceremony Thursday at high school
Scholarships and other awards will flow Thursday evening in the RHS Auditorium as Rockdale High School hosts its annual Awards Night program.
The program begins at 7 p.m.

When migraine headaches mimic mini-stroke
In February 2011, Grammy Award television viewers were exposed to some troubling images from a red carpet reporter. CBS correspondent Serene Branson began speaking gibberish in what appeared to be an on-air stroke. Three persons hurt in crashes near Thorndale
Three persons were injured, one crtically, in two unrelated crashes near Thorndale Thursday and Friday.
Trooper Donald Delukie said vehicles operated by Billy Pittman Jr., 26, of Cameron and 19-year-old Jon Braden Debault of Rockdale were in collision at 7:10 p.m. Thursday on FM 1331, three miles from FM 486. Full Story

County okays GREAT pact
Milam County commissioners on Monday okayed the annual agreement with the Greater Rockdale E-Access Team (GREAT) on Monday.
GREAT provides free computer and Internet access at various locations around Rockdale.
Milam County’s annual payment is $3,000.
