Three persons hurt in crashes near Thorndale

Three persons were injured, one crtically, in two unrelated crashes near Thorndale Thursday and Friday.

Trooper Donald Delukie said vehicles operated by Billy Pittman Jr., 26, of Cameron and 19-year-old Jon Braden Debault of Rockdale were in collision at 7:10 p.m. Thursday on FM 1331, three miles from FM 486.

Debault sustained numerous injuries and was hospitalized at Scott & White Hospital, Temple, over the weekend.

He has been released and was repor ted improv ing, according to family members Tuesday, although he will face leg and shoulder surgeries at a later date.

Vehicle damages were termed extensive.

The Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department and Milam County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident scene.

‘ CR ITICA L’—Two persons were hurt in a 6:59 p.m. Friday accident involv ing a car and pickup at the intersection of FM 486 and County Road 446, one mile south of Thorndale.

Delukie listed drivers as Corey Boothe, 22, and Tiersa Ireland, 25, both of Thorndale.

Ireland was taken to Richards Memorial Hospital, Rockdale, then to Scott & White, Ireland remained hospitalized in critical condition on Tuesday, according to the DPS.

Ireland sustaied a brain inujury, broken pelvis, crushed arms and multiple facial fractures, according to her mother, Elizabeth Ireland.

Ireland was wearing her seat belt, according to her mother.

Boothe and Christina Youngblood, a passenger, were treated at Scott & White.

Vehicle damage was termed extensive.

Thorndale volunteer firefighters and Williamson County officials responded.

CALVES—No injuries were reported when a vehicle collided with two calves on US 79 four miles west of Milano at 10:02 p.m. Thursday.

Driver was listed as John Ballard, 70, of Rockdale.

Damages were termed moderate, according to the DPS.

The Milano Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident scene.

C YCLE WR ECK— Milano volunteer firefighters, and AMS ambulance paramedics responded to a motorcycle crash at 7:33 p.m. Friday at the northern US 79-US 190/Texas 36 intersection in Milano.

Motorcyclist was listed as Jack Donaldson of Killeen.

No other information was available from the DPS.

The Thorndale VFD was also summoned to a accident on FM 1331 at 9:23 p.m. Saturday. That turned out to be in Williamson County and was handed by authorities from the county.
