Scholarships, awards total $580,750 at RHS
Maybe valedictorian Clayton Merka and salutatorian Kelsey Galbreath should have just taken a seat on the stage Thursday at the annual RHS Awards Assembly in the auditorium.
Together they made a combined 24 trips to the stage, just to pick up scholarships.
Merka received $64,800 and Galbreath $31,350. Full Story
Junior-high to promote 143 in ceremony on Thursday

THS senior earns two diplomas in two weeks
THOR NDA LE–Thorndale’s Mirah Knapek is raising the bar in her family for earning diplomas. The now graduated senior earned her diploma on Friday night from Thorndale High School, but two weeks prior had received her associates of arts degree in general studies from Temple College as well. Garza, Cecala earn Texas St. doctorates
SAN MARCOS–Jacob L. Garza graduated with his doctorate of physical therapy on May 14 from Texas State University.
He is the son of John and Donna Garza of Rockdale. His grandparents are Matilde Garza, the late Alfred Garza and Miriam and the late Fred Nolen. Full Story

Information about Rockdale High School’s “Big Blue Band” summer schedule has been released by director Adrian Acevedo.
The full band will practice from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 6-8 then break until late July. Full Story

MIL A NO— Graduates were awarded $121,480 in scholarships and awards at Milano High School commencement ceremonies held at Pruitt Field on Friday night.

Thorndale High grads garner over $102,000
THORNDALE–Scholarships and awards in the amount of $102,652 were hand out to Thorndale High School graduates during an awards ceremony held Thursday in the TISD cafeteria. The students were awarded diplomas during commencement exercises Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.
