Jones

Services for Ollie Jones, 80 of Rockdale will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Phillips & Luckey Funeral Chapel in Rockdale. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation is scheduled for 12- noon to 5 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones died Monday, June 6, at his home in Rockdale.

He was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Tanglewood to Jesse and Mable (Mack) Jones.

He married Helen Marie White on March 28, 1952, in the Milam County Courthouse in Cameron.

Mr. Jones was a lifelong Rockdale resident.

He worked for the railroad, for H.H. Coffield as a chauffeur, then at Alcoa’s Rockdale Operations for 15 years until his retirement.

Mr. Jones was a former member of Pecan Street Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Louise Jones, on July 6, 1959.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Jones of Hutto; four sons, Carl Jones, Wayne Jones and Calvin Jones, all of Rockdale, Darryl Jones of Hutto; six daughters, Ivy Jones and Vickie Felton, both of Round Rock, Regina Mayfield and Kathleen Jones, both of Hutto, Veronica Crumpton of Dallas, Janice Jones of Austin; two brothers, Jessie Jones Jr. of Rockdale, Hinton Jones of Houston; and five sisters, Ethel Mae Washington of Hutto, Lillian Hollis, Rachel Mae Johnson, Mary Marie Brown and Merlene Lazard, all of Houston; also, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
