McBride

Funeral services for Everline McBride, 74, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at New Hope Baptist Church in Rockdale with Rev. Rodrick C. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the funeral home.

Ms. McBride died Sunday, June 5, in South Austin Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 9, 1937, in LaGrange to Daniel and Mattie (Collins) Scott.

She was raised in LaGrange and had lived in Rockdale most of her life.

Ms. McBride was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Rockdale.

She volunteered to sing at Manor Oaks Nursing Home and other facilities around the area. She also wrote music and has had several published.

Ms. McBride worked for eight years for Alcoa’s Rockdale Operations in the potroom as a pot liner.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Roosevelt Anderson Jr. and Marvin Dwayne Anderson; a daughter, Teresa Marie Anderson; three brothers, Daniel Scott, Robert Williams and Lorenzo Williams; a sister, Florence Willrich; and a grandchild, King Creshawn Gaines.

Survivors are two sons; Danny Anderson of Port Arthur, Carlos Anderson of LaGrange; two daughters, Evelyn “Eva” Anderson of Killeen, Frances Miles of Rockdale; a brother, Eugene Collins of San Marcos; and three sisters, Ruby Jewel Thompson of San Antonio, Willie Mae Keeling of LaGrange, Pauline Phoenix of Carmine; also, a number of stepbrothers and stepsisters, 12 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren.
