Reporter/Bill Martin Bouncing back from an off-year with abandon, Rockdale’s Dillan Schnerr was named to the first team of the District 23-3A alldistrict baseball squad.

Schnerr was the lone Tiger to make the team, although Cody Skubal was named to the allacademic section.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound first baseman hit .442 at the plate, while smacking four home runs and driving in 27 runs.

A disciplined hitter, Schnerr struck out just eight times this season.

Schnerr leaves Rockdale as one of its top run producers, ending his career with 83 runs batted in, third behind Nic Hammett (94) and Vincent Jiminez (87).

Giddings’ Brooks Marlow was named the league most valuable player.

LaGrange—which finished tied for second in district play and barely made the playoffs–ventured the furtherest of the district teams, falling last weekend in the regional finals to Robinson, 3-0, in a one-game playoff.
