Junior high football, volleyball schedule set

Rockdale Junior High football and volleyball players can begin picking up their equipment on Friday, Aug. 12 with practices to begin on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Football equipment will be issued on Friday, Aug. 12 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. for eighth graders, while the seventh graders can receive their equipment from 10 to 11:30 p.m.

Junior high players may purchase their own football cleats, but they must be black.

Practices begin Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 7 to 8:50 a.m. for seventh graders and at 2:51 to 4:40 p.m. for eighth graders.

Volleyball equipment will also be handed out on Friday, Aug. 12 for the eighth graders from 8 to 9 a.m. and the seventh graders from 9 to 10 a.m.

Practices begin Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Seventh graders will practice from 6:45 to 8:50 a.m. and eighth graders from 3:40 to 5 p.m.

All athletes must have physicals and other paper work turned in and on file to participate and get their equipment.

First annual alumni golf tournament set in July

The Rockdale Country Club Mens Golf Association is sponsoring the first annual Tiger Golf Team Alumni Tournament.

The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 30 at the Rockdale Country Club and all proceeds w ill go to the RHS golf team.

There w ill be a team draw party on Friday, July 29 at 7 p.m.

The format is a four-person scramble and the cost is $60 per person and includes cart, green fees and lunch.

Entry deadline is July 22.

Itisopentoanyonewho played on the RHS golf team, which dates back to 1965.

Pony League Dawgs set fresh beef raffle June 26

THORNDALE—The Thorndale Dawgs 11U Pony baseball team will be holding a fresh beef fundraiser.

The drawing for a quarter processed and packaged steer and a new 120-quart cooler will be held June 26, with tickets going for $5 each or five for $20.

Money raised is to help the All- Stars with expenses with traveling to tournaments held in Laredo and Burleson and hopefully the World Series that will be held in West Virgina.

Thorndale Dawgs set bake sale June 18

The Thorndale 11-U Dawgs will be having a bake sale on Saturday, June 18 at the Thorndale

Meat Market beginning at 8 a.m.

The team w ill also be taking monetary donation at the Main st/Hwy 79 intersection in Thorndale.

Money raised will help with tournament entry fees and travel expenses to these tournaments.

Deron Clay is offering a performance strength and conditioning program for college football players.
