Golden Girls reunion
A Golden Girls reunion, for members of teams from 1988 -1999, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 at The Ranch.
Girls from these teams are asked to contact Rowena Ortega, Alyssa Kubiak Marburger or Rosie Johnson on the Rockdale High School Golden Girls 1988-1999 Facebook page or email rockdalehighschoolg firstname.lastname@example.org so they can get contact information in order to send out an invitation to each team member. They need a head count for the reunion.
The McDonald and Richards family reunion will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at the Patterson Center, 609 Mills Street in Rockdale.

MIL ANO — The annual Mor gan family reunion will be held on Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. at the Milano Senior Citizens Center.

The RHS class of 1986 will hold its 25th-year reunion on Friday, July 22 at The Ranch and Saturday, July 23 at Rockdale Country Club. The class invites the classes of 1985 and 1987 to join them for the Friday night event.

47th Appelt reunion
The 47th Appelt reunion was held June 5 at Appelt’s Hill Hall in Hallettsville where 162 people were served a prepared lunch of stew and sausage, with side dishes and desserts brought by members. Activity leaders were Clyde Svetlik, stew a nd sausa ge crew ; D or is Kalmus, kitchen crew; Hilmer and Margaret Appelt, prize team; Jennifer Svetlik, children’s activities; and Pam Reinhart, genealogist.
Veterans were recognized for their service and gathered at the flag as members recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Family members who died since the last reunion were remembered with a moment of silence: Paul H. Henneke, 56, of Van Vleck; Emma Irene Appelt, 9 0, of Converse; Dolores M. Appelt, 75, of Hallettsville; Emogene Kahanek, 76, of Hallettsville.
Oldest member present, Bill Macha, 90, of Yoakum; youngest, Sawyer Svetlik, 12- week- old son of Thomas and Shannon Svetlik and grandson of Lou and Loretta Svetlik, all of Victoria. Longest married, James and Mae Rother of Hallettsville, 58 years; newest married, Paul and Esther Kratky of Victoria, 8 months; largest family present, Robert Svetlik Sr. family, 12 members. Peter and Kathy Clark of Rochester, New York traveled the farthest.
Reunion officers re- elected were Otto “Buddy” Brogger, president; Lou Svetlik, VP; Bet t ye Appelt, treasurer; Linda Ward, secretary; Ann Birkner and Judy Grones, historians.
Door prizes were given in memory of Marie Holy. Next year’s reunion will again be held at Appelt’s Hill Hall on the first Sunday in June.— Linda Ward, secretary
