Six draw terms in 20th District Court

A 28-year-old Cameron man drew a 10- year prison term last week in 20th District Court and five persons were assessed probated terms on drug offenses.

Prosecutor Kerry Spears said Vincent Chente Llanas made an open plea to the court on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was assessed the 10-year prison term by Judge Ed Magre.

Magre also ordered Llanas to pay $56,651.46 in restitution.

Two more drug cases from Nocturnal Fest 2010 weekend were disposed of as follows, according to Spears:

• Frank Richard Schoonmaker, 24, Dallas, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams), five years deferred adjudication probation, substance abuse evaluation and any recommended treatment, complete drug education class, not go where any alcoholic beverages are sold and consumed, not attend any concert or other type of music festival like Nocturnal Fest, pay $1,500 fine.

• Cole Sumner Cragin, 20, Austin, submitted an open plea to the court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), two years deferred adjudication probation, substance abuse caseload, cognitive education program, $140 restitution.

Other cases included:

• Florida Mae Williams, 21, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams), four years deferred adjudication probation, substance abuse evaluation and any recommended treatment, $140 restitution.

• Megan Allison Gutierrez, 24, Temple, pleaded guilty to prohibited substance in correctional facility, five-year probated prison term, substance abuse evaluation and any recommended treatment.

• Mark David Ramos, 18, Cameron, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault on a public servant, two 10-year prison terms probated five years, successful completion of Intermediate Sanction Facility.
