Saturday, the second annual Kristi’s Krusaders “Rally for the Walk...Walk MS 2011” event at Nat’s raised $10,782.

The day-long events included a motorcycle ride through the county, “ladies’ choice” bike show, barbecue plate sales, T-shirt sales, live and silent auctions and live entertainment.

Kristi’s Krusaders is led by Kristi Ditto Bode, a 1996 Milano High School graduate who was diagnosed with MS almost two years ago. She and husband Buster now live in Jarrell with their two children Bailey and Bryce.

“Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that my community would support me and rally behind me in the way it has,” Bode said. “People in my hometown, my friends and my amazing family. I truly believe together we can do this, we can find a cure, not for me but for the next generation.”

The 2010 Kristi’s Krusaders event raised $15,000.

The Kristi’s Krusaders team will take part in the Central Texas Walk MS 2011 on Sept. 17 at Carl Levin Park in Harker Heights.
