Galler Galler AUSTIN— Funeral services for LaVerda Anna Galler, 86, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Weed- Corley Fish Chapel in Austin with Rev. Carl H. Schoss officiating. Interment will be at 12-noon at Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor.

Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Galler died Wednesday, June 22, in Austin.

She was born Oct. 30, 1924, to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Galler.

She attended schools in Texas, Arkansas and Nevada.

Mrs. Galler was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for approximately 12 years, working in the Taylor, Bastrop, Austin and Corpus Christi offices.

She was employed later as a claims adjudicator in the insurance department of the Texas Employment Commission for almost 30 years.

Mrs. Galler loved her Lord and was very active in churches where she lived (St. Paul Lutheran Church, Taylor; Christ Lutheran Church, Corpus Christi; St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Austin and Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Austin). She was a Stephen Minister, took communion to shut-in members, worked as an altar guild member and as president of the guild, served on the evangelism committee, and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

Mrs. Galler also enjoyed traveling, gardening, ceramic painting, sewing and reading.

Her husband, Henry L. Fogle Jr., preceded her in death in 1960.
