For most of a night and day last week county and state law enforcement officers thought it was possible a convicted killer was roaming the woods of east central Milam County.

June building permits over $300,000; highest in 2011
Fiscal year totals over $1 million
After having the lowest total of the year in May, city building permits for June are at $336,137.98, the highest for both calendar and fiscal year 2011.
City building permits totaled totaled just $12,011 for the month of May.
The month’s permits were sparked by a $262,000 air conditioning remodel at the 75-yearold Rockdale Elementary School gymnasium. Full Story
