June building permits over $300,000; highest in 2011
Fiscal year totals over $1 million
After having the lowest total of the year in May, city building permits for June are at $336,137.98, the highest for both calendar and fiscal year 2011.
City building permits totaled totaled just $12,011 for the month of May.
The month’s permits were sparked by a $262,000 air conditioning remodel at the 75-yearold Rockdale Elementary School gymnasium. Full Story
Thorndale Chamber board deems annual Revue another success
The Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) met in their regular meeting on June 28 at the Downtown Cafe in Thorndale. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as well as the treasurer’s report. Full Story
Saying goodbye after 11 years on the job
July 4 has come and gone. But though the date has passed, the significance has not. We are a free country—the best country in the world. As we go to vote or see our flag wave we can be proud that we live where we do. We can be thankful for our freedom—God Bless America.
