June building permits over $300,000; highest in 2011

Fiscal year totals over $1 million

After having the lowest total of the year in May, city building permits for June are at $336,137.98, the highest for both calendar and fiscal year 2011.

City building permits totaled totaled just $12,011 for the month of May.

The month’s permits were sparked by a $262,000 air conditioning remodel at the 75-yearold Rockdale Elementary School gymnasium.

The June amount brings the total for the 2011 calendar year to $707,414.19, almost double what it was for the year the month before.

Building permits are issued at City Hall and reflect only construction in the city limits

That brings the total for the fiscal year 2011, which began in October 2010 to $1,098,932.19.
