When Denice Doss came to Rockdale 38 years ago, the self- described “Air Force brat” didn’t really have a home town.

Area rebates still declining
Rockdale’s check down 15.7 percent for the year
AUSTIN—Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has announced that state sales revenue in June was $1.72 billion, up 7.2 percent compared to June 2010.
Despite the good news from the state office, area rebates continued a declining trend, included a drop of 11.1 percent for the City of Rockdale compared to the same time last year. Full Story

Reception to honor Chamber president
A reception honoring Denice Doss, who is leaving her post as Rockdale Chamber of Commerce manager at the end of this month, is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Rockdale Workforce Center.
Doss became Chamber president in 2000 and has served in that role for 11 years. Full Story
