Forest Grove revival planned for July 25-31

Forest Grove Christian Church will hold revival services Monday through Sunday, July 25-31 with Carl Teel the speaker.

Brandon Navarre, Forest Grove pastor, said services will start at 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday. The public is invited.

First Christian Church sets VBS July 31-Aug. 4

First Christian Church will hold “Blast Off Adventure” Vacation Bible School, Sunday, July 31 through Thursday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for ages 4 years through fifth grade.

Dinner will be provided nightly, said Cindy Cates, spokesperson. For more information, call the church office, 446-5090.

Movie night Friday at Meadowbrook BC

Movie night will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the fellowship hall of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, according to Rev. Rick Hertless, pastor. The movie is Faith Like Potatoes.

“It’s the true story of a farmer who moves his family to South Africa and suffers a series of seemingly insurmountable losses,” Hertless said. “Through unlikely friendships and divine intervention, he discovers his life’s true purpose and it sustains his belief in the power of faith.”

The movie is rated PG and the public is invited, Hertless said.

Thrift store volunteers announced for month

Rockdale Christian Services member churches are responsible for volunteers at Heavenly Treasures Thrift Shop on the following dates:

Women’s Bible study continues each Sunday

‘Christmas in July’ Sale at Heavenly Treasures

Rockdale Christian Services Heavenly Treasures thrift store serving the needy will be holding a “Red Hot Christmas in July” sale from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 through Friday, July 29.

“The sale will include some Christmas bargains on decorations, lights, trees, accessories and more,” said Pat Watson, spokesperson. “Please enter through the back door in the alley. The sale is in the Heavenly Treasures back room,” she said.

“ This is a great way to get ready for Christmas and support a good cause at the same time,” Watson said.

Rockdale Aglow to hear Phillips

Rockdale Aglow Community Lighthouse will meet Thursday, Aug. 11 at Rockdale General Store, 1`201 West US 79 in Rockdale. Fellowship and refreshments will start at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m.

Guest speaker will be Crystal Phillips, vice-president of leadership development for the Heart of Texas Area Team of Aglow International.

She holds a master’s degree n clinical Christian counseling and is a retired licensed chemical dependency counselor.

Phillips, through career and ministry, has been a keynote speaker at many events and has facilitated training for businesses and health care agencies. She also leads church women’s ministries and teaching Bible studies.

She is the author of a recently published book, Unchained Heart—Journey to Freedom, a portion of her testimony of emotional healing.

The public is invited.
