Gause Baptist Church had a successful Vacation Bible School this past week. Youngsters ages 3 to 12 are invited to the Gause Full Gospel Church for their VBS from 9 a.m. to noon July 25-29. According to VBS director LaDonna Bonorden this year’s theme is “Celebrate Jesus”.

Had a real nice evening Friday at the home of Dorsie Wilson for the annual Professor Smith Family Reunion cookout. It was nice visiting with ones I hadn’t seen in some time and the food was delicious. The family get-together continued through the weekend. Gause 4-H Club members continue to be busy this summer. On Tuesday, members helped with the monthly food bank that is held at the Gause Community Center the second Tuesday of each month. On Wednesday, members were in Rockdale for a wildlife workshop sponsored by the Milam County Extension Service.

On Saturday, some of the club members went to Cameron to play bingo with residents of Winnie L. Nursing Facility. This week, local 4-H members and families are in San Antonio for the annual State 4-H Shooting Sports competition. More about that next week.

Sunday’s morning worship service at the Gause Baptist Church was led by the Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center Peace Outreach Team.

Visiting this week with Ginny Cunningham and parents Kerri and Dave, were Ginny’s friend Nikki($ 295 Boutwell,Value) sister Katy and their mother Laura Boutwell and grandmother Pat. One day they spent at Schlitterbaun, and another day in Austin, which included watching the bats. They also made a trip through the Hill Country and time at the Cunningham home just “hanging out”.
