One hurt in Rockdale-area crash

A 52-year-old Rockdale man was treated at Richards Memorial Hospital following a July 13 twovehicle crash on US 79 just east of the Rockdale city limits.

Trooper Ernest DelBosque said John Pruett was taken to the hospital by private vehicle following the collision.

Other driver was listed as Don Porterfield Jr., 79, of Milano. Damages to both vehicles were termed extensive.

No injuries, and moderate to extensive damages, were reported in a 10:35 a.m. July 12 collision on US 79 in front of Milano Livestock Exchange. DelBosque said drivers were Crystal Fischer, 25, of Jonestown, and Alonzo Reed, 68, of Granger.

Two no-injury, moderate-damage accidents involved deer.

Trooper Erik Gaston said a vehicle driven by Randy Korenek, 20, of Rockdale collided with a deer at 9:55 p.m. July 13 on FM 908 north of Rockdale.

Trooper David Yarbrough said a vehicle operated by Sharon Walls of Temple, hit a deer at 11:30 p.m. Saturday on FM 487 north of Rockdale.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
