Rockdale Junior High football and volleyball players can begin picking up their equipment on Friday, Aug. 12 with practices to begin on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Football equipment will be issued on Friday, Aug. 12 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. for eighth graders, while the seventh graders can receive their equipment from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Junior high players may purchase their own football cleats, but they must be black.
Practices begin Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 7 to 8:50 a.m. for seventh graders and at 2:51 to 4:40 p.m. for eighth graders.
Volleyball equipment will also be handed out on Friday, Aug. 12 for the eighth graders from 8 to 9 a.m. and the seventh graders from 9 to 10 a.m.
Seventh graders w ill practice from 6:45 to 8:50 a.m. and eighth graders from 3:40 to 5 p.m.
All athletes must have physicals and other paper work turned in and on file to participate and get their equipment.
Milano football, spikers report to practice Aug. 1
MILANO—Milano head coach Craig Jentsch has announced that football two- a- days will start Monday, Aug. 1 from 7 a.m. until noon.
Equipment will be issued at that time. Athletes must have physicals to participate.
Lady Eagle volleyball practice will also start August 1.
“We will be practicing from 9 to 12 in the morning and then again from 4 to 6 in the evening,” says Coach Wendy King. by a physician before they can participate.
Junior high girls will have their first day of practice on the first day of school.

First annual alumni golf tournament set in July
The Rockdale Country Club Mens Golf Association is sponsoring the first annual Tiger Golf Team Alumni Tournament.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 30 at the Rockdale Country Club and all proceeds w ill go to the RHS golf team.
There w ill be a team draw party on Friday, July 29 at 7 p.m.
The format is a four-person scramble and the cost is $60 per person and includes cart, green fees and lunch.
Entry deadline is July 22.

Boxer Karl earns medal at Olympic qualifying
Milano’ s Ryan Karl just returned from Cincinnatti after competing in the USA Boxing Last Chance Tournament Qua lif ier for t he last spot in the Olympic Trials.
Karl, 19, brough home a bronze medal in the 141- pound divi- sion, finishing third out of 46 boxers.
The event was a 6-day tournament to determine the last of 8 spots for the Olympic Trials.
