Handrick reunion coming up Saturday

THORNDALE— The 14th annual Johann and Theresia ( Mertink) Handrick family reunion will be held Saturday, July 30 at Thorndale Firemen’s Hall, spokesperson Joy K ieschnick Teinert announced.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and the meal will be served at 12:30 p.m.

“Hope all our families can make it and join us for barbecue brisket and sausage and all the trimmings,” Teinert said.

There will be games for the kids, face painting and a brief service by Rev. Wilbern Michalk.

RHS Classes of ‘71, ‘72 reunion set for Aug. 6

The RHS Classes of 1971 and 1972 will hold a joint reunion from 6 until 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Rockdale Countr y Club.

Shaw family reunion Aug. 13 in Gause FBC

GAUSE—A reunion for family and friends of Ossie and Lula (McNeil) Shaw will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Gause.

Spies reunion set Aug. 7, Hallettsville

HALLETTSVILLE—The 56th annual reunion of descendants of August Spies will be held on Sunday, Aug. 7 at the American Legion Hall in Hallettsville.

Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish and dessert, with lunch being ser ved at 12: 30 p.m. Plates, utensils, cups and tea will be provided. Attendees are also asked to bring silent auction items. For more information, call 361-293- 6563 or 361-293-1510.

Milano Exes Reunion set Saturday, Oct. 29

MILANO—The Milano Eagles will host the Snook Bluejays on Friday, Oct. 28 for the MHS homecoming football game.

The Milano Exes’ Reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 in the MHS cafetorium. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Steve and Rebecca Telg of The Crossing will cater a fajita meal at noon.

Donations are needed for both a silent auction and live auction. Items can be brought the morning of the Oct. 29.

Ann Hashem Kraft will attend again with her new book, The Red Diamond of Nadirjna. She will also have copies of her first book, The Opera Ghost Lives.

The E xe s’ Reu n ion ra ise s f unds for scholarships. Last spring the Exes presented three $1,000 scholarships. This fall Exes w ill again award “ mini scholarships” to Milano grads attending school. Amounts will depend on the number of students who apply.
