RHS Classes of ‘71, ‘72 reunion set Saturday

The RHS Classes of 1971 and 1972 will hold a joint reunion from 6 until 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Rockdale Countr y Club.

Golden Girls reunion Saturday at The Ranch

The RHS Golden Girls of 1988 through 1999, who were under the direction of Rowena Ortega, will hold a “meet and share” event from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at The Ranch.

Mrs. Ortega provided the following information concerning the reunion:

“We will have videos, powerpoint presentations, and memorabilia tables.

“There will be a tour of Rockdale High School at 4 p.m.

“Later that night (7-11 p.m.) we will meet back at The Ranch for dancing and visiting.

“Friends, family, and all Golden Girls and directors from the beginning to present are invited.

“ The Ranch needs a headcount. Please let us know if you can attend. Also, let us know if you would like to help with decorations, memorabilia, scrapbooks, and other details.

Shaw family reunion Aug. 13 in Gause FBC

GAUSE—A reunion for family and friends of Ossie and Lula (McNeil) Shaw will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Gause.

Spies reunion set Sunday, Hallettsville

HALLETTSVILLE—The 56th annual reunion of descendants of August Spies will be held on Sunday, Aug. 7 at the American Legion Hall in Hallettsville.

Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish and dessert, with lunch being served at 12:30 p.m. Plates, utensils, cups and tea will be provided. Attendees are also asked to bring silent auction items. For more information, call 361-293-6563 or 361-293-1510.

Milano Exes Reunion set Saturday, Oct. 29

MILANO—The Milano Eagles w ill host the Snook Bluejays on Friday, Oct. 28 for the MHS homecoming football game.

The Milano Exes’ Reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 in the MHS cafetorium. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Steve and Rebecca Telg of The Crossing will cater a fajita meal at noon.

Donations are needed for both a silent auction and live auction. Items can be brought the morning of the Oct. 29.

Ann Hashem Kraft will attend again with her new book, The Red Diamond of Nadirjna. She will also have copies of her first book, The Opera Ghost Lives.

The Exes’ Reunion raises funds for scholarships. Last spring the Exes presented three $1,000 scholarships. This fall E xes will again award “mini scholarships” to Milano grads attending school. Amounts will depend on the number of students who apply. Any MHS grad who has at least one year (two semesters) of schooling and will be enrolled this fall is eligible.
