Area rebates bring some light
Rebates down 14.5 percent for Rockdale in 2011
AUSTIN—Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has announced that state sales revenue in July was $1.86 billion, up 10.3 percent compared to July 2010.
Those numbers still don’t bring rebates back into the positive for most area entities. Rockdale is down for the month and year. Whereas Milam County is up for the month, but down compared to August 2010. Full Story

Annual city-wide garage sale Saturday, Sept. 3
It’s that time again to empty your trunks and put gas in the car. It is City Wide Garage Sale time.
The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce will host its annual City Wide Garage Sale on Saturday, Sept. 3, Chamber president Deedra Jacob announced.
This year the Chamber has decided to host this event free of charge to any citizen that wishes to sign up. Full Story
