A busy place
The Rockdale High School office is about as busy as it gets, especially the week before classes start. Here, secretary Debra Neal helps senior Jose Macias and his sister, freshman Brenda Macias, with their 2011-12 schedules. Classes begin Monday. Back to school bells ring
Well it is already time for school buses to run, carpools to operate, and for alarms to go off early again. Yes, summer has flown by quickly and it is time for school to start.
It is also that time for automobile drivers to slow down and pay close attention while driving in school zones. Also, extra caution should be taken around areas where students are walking to and from school. Full Story

St. Paul Lutheran first school in county to begin new year
St. Paul Lutheran School in Thorndale opened its doors for the 122nd time on Wednesday, Aug. 17. Parents, teachers and students began the year with an opening worship service centering on the idea of “Fear not...God is with us.” Full Story

Open houses set Thursday at RISD
Class lists will be posted at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at both the Rockdale Elementary and Rockdale Intermediate schools.
Rockdale Elementary’s annual open house is set for 5- 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, where students and parents will meet teachers and can bring their school supplies. Full Story
